Integrate with VS as a "Custom Tool"

Nov 24, 2008 at 3:48 PM
It would be nice if the generator would be called automatically when I change something to the xsd. Visual Studio has a feature for this behaviour, called "Custom Tool", visible as a property of a .xsd file.
MSDataSetGenerator is an example of such a custom tool.

I hope you can put this on the feature request list.

Although the example on the  XSD2Code download page has "XSD2CodeCustomTool" in the Custom Tool option in the file properties, using that will cause a "file not found " error in the compiler.  Would you please explain how to make XSD2Code run atumatically?  I must not have things set up in Visual Studio 2010 properly.

Thanks

Hi,

You must enter Xsd2CodeCustomTool instead of XSD2CodeCustomTool.
